Becoming

Michelle Obama’s book “Becoming” is beautifully written and brilliantly insightful.

The best part? The title. Here’s why. ⬇

We look at Michelle’s book as the pinnacle of her life. She came from humble but loving beginnings, worked hard, clicked with a good guy, raised two terrific girls, and became one of the most admired women in the world.

The End. Of the book. Not her story.

Like Michelle, we’re always becoming.

Life isn’t static. Sometimes, in a seemingly perfect moment, we’ll say “I wish I could freeze time.”

Thank goodness we don’t have that superpower. It would keep us from growing, learning, and embracing new adventures. Otherwise we’d be bored and boring.

Becoming is a gift.

My becoming to date:

🔷 Youngest of 4 kids. 👱🏼‍♂️👱🏼‍♀️👱🏼‍♂️👱🏼‍♀️

🔷 Became a feminist at four years old. ♀️

🔷 Put myself through college and grad school. 👩🏼‍🎓

🔷 Married a wonderful man. 💑

🔷 Took a year-long trip around the world. 🌎

🔷 Raised two great kids into honorable and loving adults. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

🔷 On my third career. 💁🏼‍♀️

🔷 Lost loved ones and gained a granddaughter. 👶🏼

🔷 Wrote an Amazon bestseller and about to start writing another book. 📕

🔷 Vegan for the animals. 🐷🐮🐔🐟

🔷 Grateful for all of it, including my mistakes. 🙏🏽

More to come…

What’s your “becoming” story?
